Recipe EU = voltage × duration (raw power consumed). Catalyst EU-eq = catalyst_L × catalyst_EU/L (the fuel value of the catalyst spent). Total EU includes both, so you can compare modes by their true energy cost. Imperfect OC: 4× voltage, ½ duration → 2^N× total recipe EU. Perfect OC: 4× voltage, ¼ duration → recipe EU stays at base, catalyst surcharge added.
Y axis is log scale (powers of 10). Base is constant. Imperfect grows ~2^N per OC. Perfect approaches imperfect/2 asymptotically.
